Volunteering

Volunteering at the Zone

Here at the CommUnity Zone, we always have projects in the works. Whether they're ongoing programs, new concepts we're getting together, or a one-off event in need of helping hands, there's something happening at all times. And while we handle as much as we can between ourselves and our partners, we're always happy to have extra help from community volunteers!

Volunteering with us is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who wants to help with community events and be part of this vibrant town and region. We're especially open to high school and college students, including those looking to fill service hours. Our opportunities cover all sorts of work, from physical to digital, so we can provide something for anyone!

There are also many benefits to be had from volunteering, especially with how varied and active we are. Volunteers can expect to improve and learn a wide range of skills, including collaboration, critical thinking, planning, advertising, social media usage, and more! The CommUnity Zone also offers a unique opportunity for networking, thanks to our many partners and contacts throughout the region, and can also offer recommendation letters for volunteers.

Again, we have opportunities for anyone who's interested, so don't hesitate to get in touch. Email Cynthia Peltier at peltiercynthia4@gmail.com with your interest and you'll be sure to hear back as we find out how you can be part of our CommUnity!

Bucknell University Liaison

Hi everyone! My name is Catarina and I am the Bucknell University Liaison for the Community Zone. I  am a junior at Bucknell studying Neuroscience and Spanish, and I am a Boston Posse scholar from Brockton, MA. In this position, I aim to recruit Bucknell students to volunteer their time at our organization, whether that be by participating in a community event, helping out with our social media presence, or hosting an event of their own! My biggest aspiration as liaison is to help bridge the gap between Bucknell and the surrounding Lewisburg community. By partnering with the CommUnity Zone, you will have the opportunity to network and build relationships with members of the community, enhance your skills in collaboration and critical thinking, and reap benefits such as community service hours and letters of recommendation. Please reach out with any questions (cab073@bucknell.edu)!
