Stories on Tap: “Loved” Saturday, February 11, 2023 Doors open 6:30 PM CommUnity Zone
Join us Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 6:30 pm for an evening of live storytelling by the Susquehanna Valley community on the topic “Loved.” Hosted by Monica Prince. Sign up at www.storiesontap.org for a chance to tell a true story on the theme -- or just come listen.
ABOUT THE THEME
The theme “Loved” is broad. Each of us might be able to talk for hours about the many people in our lives who have loved us (or who could have loved us differently). Stories that work well in front of an audience involve one pivotal moment — big or small — when our lives changed. Some examples are:
A time you celebrated love. It can be love of self, of community, of friendship. It could be love of place.
A story of change. Talk about a moment when you noticed your love for someone (or something) was changing.
A moment of insight. What’s one moment in your life that you realized you were loved?
A moment of difficulty when love fell short…or helped you overcome difficulty.
A story of acceptance. Talk about a moment when you accepted and loved yourself for who you were...or someone else loved you.
Stories on Tap produces storytelling events and workshops in Central PA with the goal of fostering community resilience through the art of oral storytelling. Founded in 2011 as a forum to share lived experiences, we uphold the belief that authentic, well-crafted stories can open hearts and strengthen communities. Stories on Tap’s efforts aim to foster community connection among residents of Central PA and increase understanding of others’ experiences through authenticity and candor.
The CommUnity Zone received state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
