Support for Community Groups
The Susquehanna Mediation Center, Girl Scouts in the Heart of PA, the Bucknell Institute for Lifelong Learning, The Hub for Progress, high school groups, and so many other local organizations, institutions, and individuals, too, have taken advantage of support offered to all from the CommUnity Zone. |
Youth Empowerment Grant Program
Our Youth Empowerment Grant Program helps our young neighbors bring to life their visions for community improvement. |
The Susquehanna Valley TimeBank
The Susquehanna Valley TimeBank is a network of community members who exchange services with others in the group―for free! For each hour a member spends providing a service, an hour is “banked” in their account. The member can use this hour of credit later to access a service provided by any other member, not just the member they worked for. In other words, each hour of service provided is logged and becomes the unit of “currency” that “purchases” other services. |
Technology Tutoring
Our Tech Tutoring program enlists students to provide basic computer and technology training to older adults and others who may need help with a device. In return, the students develop their leadership, communication, and teaching skills. And everyone has fun! |
